Know what the quote covers
Ask for the total price and a clear explanation of the proposed work. If you are comparing quotes, check that they cover the same service and key functions.
- Is the call-out included in the total?
- Does the quote include cutting and programming, if needed?
- Is VAT included where applicable?
- Will the key be checked with the vehicle before completion?
- What happens if assessment shows different work is needed?
If the diagnosis changes
A remote that has stopped working may need a different solution from the one you expected. Ask the locksmith to explain any change to the work and confirm the cost before they proceed.
